If Mama Ain’t Projecting
I’ve been spending some time considering what the next year will bring. I know what I want to see happen, where I’d like to be 365 days from now, how I’d like to change and Who will have to intervene to get me there. I know I can trust Him to help me see clearly so that the path I take does not lead me in the wrong direction.
And that’s the beauty of knowing Him.
Proverbs 16:9 says “a man’s heart plans His ways, but the Lord directs his steps.” That is good news to me as I face this new year–I can resolve, project and set goals as much as I want, but it’s up to Him to get it all just right. My job is to be stubborn in my obedience to Him, radical in my love for Him and persistent in trusting Him to direct the course of my life. I am certain that 2010 will be a year marked by victory. I’m also certain that victory will only come as I pursue and obey. I’m one mama who has made that pursuit and obedience my highest aim for the year (and for this lifetime), and I invite you to join me on this journey.

By the way, here’s my verse for the year: “Because the sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be dismayed. Therefore I have set my face like a stone, determined to do His will. And I know that I will triumph.” Isaiah 50:7. Why not join me in making that the theme for this year?
