Dewitt Johnson

Considered by many to have been a child prodigy, Johnson's talents for playing and writing music is a God-given gift. The fourth of eleven children, he co-organized his first gospel group, The BC&M Choir, while he was still in high school in Nashville, TN. For a number of years he toured recorded with The James Johnson Ensemble along with other choirs & groups. He has seen many of his original songs become standards in the repertories of churches nationwide. His combination of fresh, sensitive material and superb delivery has made James "DeWitt" Johnson a sought after artist who has shared stages in every major U. S. city with Gospel Greats such as: The Edwin Hawkins Singers, Shirley Caesar, Bobby Jones, & Reverend James Cleveland to name just a few.

DeWitt is privileged to have his own television show, "Touching the World Broadcast" that airs on FOX 17 in Nashville on Sunday mornings at 5:30 AM and has received national recognition.  Johnson is more popularly know for tunes such as "I've Been Touched," "Glad to Be in the Service," & "I Made a Vow." Currently, DeWitt Johnson is working on his new project under independent label Commandment Entertainment out of Nashville, TN and is blazing the airwaves with his latest single, "Down Home Church."
